About prg.ai

Building a thriving technology ecosystem requires a coordinated effort between academia, industry, and government. prg.ai is a non-profit initiative focused on transforming Prague into a significant European hub for artificial intelligence research and innovation.
What is prg.ai?
prg.ai is an organization that connects and supports the local AI community in Prague. It is a partnership between top Czech technical universities, the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the City of Prague. Their goal is to attract talent, foster collaboration, and promote Prague's AI ecosystem on a global scale.
How prg.ai Works
The organization works by running various programs and events. They support AI education in high schools, connect university students with local AI companies for internships and jobs, and organize networking events for researchers and industry professionals. They also act as a central point of contact for anyone interested in Prague's AI scene.
Key Features and Capabilities
prg.ai's activities are centered around three pillars: Education, Research & Collaboration, and Community Building. They publish reports on the local AI industry, maintain a directory of AI companies and research groups, and promote success stories from the Prague AI ecosystem.

Pros and Cons
What We Like
The initiative plays a crucial role in consolidating a fragmented ecosystem into a powerful, unified community. Their focus on nurturing talent from the high school level upwards is a smart, long-term strategy for sustainable growth.
Areas for Improvement
The impact of such an organization can be hard to measure directly and takes a long time to realize. Its focus is exclusively on Prague, so it is not a resource for those outside this specific geographic area.
How prg.ai Compares to Alternatives
prg.ai is not a tool or a company, but an ecosystem builder. It is comparable to similar initiatives in other cities or regions that aim to promote their local tech scene, such as the Vector Institute in Toronto or hubs in Berlin and Paris.
